[cool knobs alert] Kilo International [made in USA]

(not an old part, but) I noticed that a couple of cool knobs (from several different stores/vendors here in Japan) were apparently made by the same US manufacturer:

They are pricey (somewhat to a lot pricier) relative to other more typical (ones that can be found at many stores), but (IMO) the designs look first rate and they appear very well made (materials, dimensions).

Looks like aluminum.

judging from the way they look, plus the prices ($4.815-$21.56 at digikey--so the *lowest* one is $4.815, which would seem a lot for a plastic one (unless it was very large or something),

(Kilo International Knobs page at digikey) :

(some big pics of one model sold locally--click images for bigger pics)

(more pics at Allied Electronics) :

they do appear to be all ("machined?") aluminum.

(apparently already used on some instruments (Sadowsky bass--I actually remembered seeing these) ) :

saw another one at a parts place (which also sells some musical instrument related parts such as pickups and such). It was sold under Sadowsky brand (one on their bass). Felt light in weight (I suppose I mistakenly presumed they would be weighty for some reason). Definitely a lot pricier than the more typical guitar/bass knobs (USD $13-ish IIRC).
