I saw it here (it's in Japanese though!) :

(apparently there is some sort of "fans only" section but I was too lazy to sign in to yahoo japan.)

Cool, now I wonder which caps are in question. Also noticed something about an article by Sweet which I guess would be Bob Sweet?

(not totally sure, but) I kind of assumed that it would be (some of) the ones in series which include a small 470pF if memory serves.

(those caps (apparently 15n, 220n, 4n7, and 470p) make me think of this page where there was an old Japanese page where the author speculates that he thinks the values were chosen to achieve the effect at the widest possible bandwidth:

https://web.archive.org/web/20100509171 ... nivibe.htm

https://web.archive.org/web/20121212233 ... ivibe2.htm )

(I think) the 4n7 and 470p could be ceramic in some units?

re: the Sweet reference, can you show me where you are referring to (I couldn't find it)?

 me too.

Have some of the parts (board, photocells, 2SC828, etc.) but haven't completed the umm...("holy quadrant"?) of Fuzz Face, wah wah, univibe and octavia (just three of the four)--not to mention the amps--which is a bit too much to do just for fun.

I do have an Aquavibe which I like, not likely I'm going to dissect it to tweak but  No Octavia either & the JTM45/100 is still in storage :(

 you have the "stadium blaster" nuclear option in reserve!

maybe it can be used to blast zombies if earth faces the ultimate doomday scenario.

(Hmm... idea for a film)

ZOMBIES vs. Hendrix

in a post-apocalyptic world, Jimi Hendrix rises back and saves humanity from the zombie invasion! Hunting down zombies on his mojo-powered Flying V vehicle with twin JTM45 sonic annihilators and Fuzz Face/wah wah harmonic overgrinder weapons, he rids the earth of the zombie scourge using guitar licks as energy weapons.

interesting post on aron's bbs:

i built an ultimate wah. 5 inductors...After all my time and trials for me i felt that the transistor gain played a much bigger part in the tone of the way than the inductors.

I didn't swap inductors in my little wah project but the transistor swaps were very obvious & the pots play a big part IMO.

Wow I gotta listen to rest of those Jimi isolated tracks :D , did you hear the BBC clips of Burning of the Midnight Lamp?
Really nice usage of the Vox Wah and IIRC it was done live ...
