A place to discuss all the cool pedals we love to torture our amps with.

MXR Phase 90

Has anyone repaired one of the older script logo units? I have one that stopped phasing :( looking for tips to get it working.

Thanks,

David

Haven't fixed one yet but it can't be too hard. :)

Forgot to report back, was an easy fix, just needed a tweak of the trimpot.

so the trim pot contact oxidized (and was restored through movement)?

the closest to that I've got is a later JD era converted to earlier circuit and one tant cap changed to slow the oscillator (back when I was doing ""b****n s***d chasing" ). However, I don't have too much of a clue how the circuit works.

Ya know that could very well be, initially I thought someone might have accidentally bumped the pot when they removed the deteriorating foam crap. happens again might be good to replace the pot.

some P90 stuff

thanks for the link. The linked interview with someone who worked at MXR early on (proprietor of Electroplex amps) is interesting also (he is apparently responsible for the later version circuit).
