Marstran RS OT switchable between 8ohm and 16ohm

Postby n123mv » Fri Sep 25, 2009 10:36 am

Hello everybody,

Is is possible to switch between 8ohm and 16ohm with the Marstran RS OT? I found this schematic but I don't know how it exactly works.

Next up is a quick and easy wiring scheme for the infamous JTM45. This one is simple and to the point and allows 8 ohm and 16 ohm selection (the two most common values used). It uses a standard issue double pole double throw (DPDT) toggle switch.

Should work, just have to follow the OT wiring diagram to match the taps.Haven't done it myself, just wired mine for 16 ohms.

I am pretty sure the 8 ohm selection on that drawing is not correct to the RS wiring. With "A" being the Brown lead, it cannot be grounded all the time.

Oh yeah would be the brown (F) lead to ground for 8 ohms, think there's another wiring diagram using a rotary at the JTM45 group that might work?

I'm going to wire it with 2x 3PDT switches. I don't hope that it will effect the sound quality.

thanks Brian, but I don't have the yahoo layout. I'd like to switch between 8 and 16 ohms on my RS, if possible (don't use 4 ohms often)
