PT 1204-43/subtitution?

Postby ac/dc » Wed Feb 17, 2010 8:10 pm

Hi!
As this is my first post, hello to everybody!
Hopefully I'll bring some added value here...but more possibly I'll get:-)

I'm looking for Marstran transformer PT 1204-43 (dual sec.) for my JTM45/100 clone (Cariatone).
I'd like to have both option voltages - 490V for modern tubes and 560V for vintage GEC.
It looks like there is no stock at the moment. And another one I need also (1203-80) :-(

I look at the Mercury M. - is there any chance to use their M-JTM-45/100P transformer as subtitution for 1204-43?
It's correct PT for JTM100...:
secondary, B+: 168-0-168 + 188-0-188 + 90V bias + 6,3V filament self leads.

Would pls someone comment how this would work?

Thanks and regards

Yeah, I'd like to buy them both, but at the moment no stock, none of both.
If Brian read this I would appreciate any info regarding availability.

OK, I just took a peak and I have two new 1203-80's and one very old used 1204-43. I would have to check the primary on the 43 to see what taps it has before offering it for sale.
