Nope...already have clones of a JTM45 block logo/RS OT, a JTM45 Bluesbreaker w/Drake OT, a JTM45/100, a JTM100 Black Flag and a 12-series JMP100. Have owned several metal panel 50-watters and had a Metroamp-based '68 spec 1986 a few years ago, but have been without a proper 50-watter for nearly two years.

The JTM50 one will have a black flag front panel and specs, but with a switchable tube/SS rectifier. I'll probably go with 32/32/32/32/32 filtering in tube mode and 64/32/32/32/32 in SS mode ust to tighten it up further in SS mode for more of a '68-style 1986 tone. This amp is for Duane Allman-style tone.

The JMP50 will have the later split cathode lead preamp, and probably 100/50/50/32/32 filtering. I'll be shooting for an Allan Holdsworth type tone with this one. He used a 50-watter and SG on the Tony Williams Lifetime "Believe It" album, where he has an amazing, searing tone. Fat and liquid, but not as squishy as a Van Halen-style tone. I figure the lead preamp with low voltages (might even try the 370V tap on the 1202-118 I have coming) but with solid filtering might be the way to go. It's not an amp that I need any clean tones from, just looking for a fat, searing, gainy lead tone.

I'd just like to say to the folks watching this thread or who've been a part of it even, how awesome and stress free it's been dealing with Brian.
Personally, over the last three years I've had the pleasure AND fortune of buying multiple transformer's, a choke, and now an incredible chassis from Brian. His products are top notch.....and if that wasn't enough, his customer service is.... Well you'd be hard pressed to find any better.

Juast want to say .... Thank You Brian.

Many of us would still be looking for GOOD chassis for our builds had you not made this happen.

I think it's a big plus that Brian is into this stuff and understands the technical side of things. Seems there's a bit of commodification of replacement trafos, but I think that is something that sets Marstran apart ('course not to say there are no other good companies providing quality products).

Hi there!
Are there some 50W chassis left? I may need one in about a month, possibly sooner...
Thanks!

Hi Brian, thanks for letting me join the group. I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place, I need a type 2 50 watt chassis punched for 4 pre amp tubes for a SIR #39 type build. I have funds available immediately u let me know its right to. I would also need a C1999 choke, PT bracket & at least 1, maybe both transformers, & plexi panels if available. Cheers

Ivan,

I have some stock style 2 chassis that I could add an extra tube to or you could wait on this chassis to be made.

Brian Wallace wrote:I'm thinking the chassis will have the same eight pot layout as the trem front panel so that it can be used for a trem or a master volume set up with resonance( or what ever you want). I think the top should have 4 preamp tubes in a row and then the power tubes instead of the trem style with the trem tube after the power tubes. This way it could be used as a high gain or trem. The trem circuit can go in the front like it does on some Marshall heads. I'm not shooting for a replica but a mod chassis.

How is this progressing?

I am still in for at least one chassis (a forum member has grabbed my second set of original Drake trannies for an original so I could not decline!)

Hi Brian, if ur having the chassis made I can wait, it'll give me time to get other compontents together. As soon as u let me know to send funds for the chassis, C1999 choke & PT bracket plus freight to Australia I'll get it to u. Thanks. Cheers

HI Brian! I'm new to the forum here and was just wondering if you have any style 2 chassis in stock? If so, I'd definitely want one so let me know and tell me how/when you'd want payment.
Thanks,
Dan
