casters

I wanted to replace the bulky non original casters on a 1973 checkerboard cab with the Fender casters but found the holes are about 3/4" & the replacements are bout 1/2" so a bit of slop there.

Thinking it might be more secure if I fill in the holes will appropriate sized dowels then drill the 1/2" holes for a tighter fit. good idea ?

thanks,

David

That is probably the correct way to do it but if the four screws fit tightly you would probably be ok.

I have converted a few cabs to these castors and they work very well (I like to take the wheels off at a gig and sit the half stack on my head's flightcase).

I had also asked Jim from Scumback about it and he said just drop em in, as you say the screws will provide enough strength for the casters, is nice to be a able to remove the wheels :D
