They're reporting on Asylum that he's died.
Like everything, VTV had its blind spots, but I always enjoyed reading every issue cover to cover.
He was inspiring knowledge and enthusiasm about tubes when there weren't nearly as many sources of info readily accessible.

Oh my this is sad news, haven't been over to the Asylum in a long time but I do have some older issues of VTV one titled EL84 listening evaluation written by Charlie and and a bunch of other VTV stuff written by Eric Barbour.
