Unknown tubes

Postby Ivabiggun » Mon Dec 26, 2011 8:40 pm

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me identify these power tubes. I think they may be 5881's, but I'm not sure. Her is a link to Photobucket with high-res pics. http://s169.photobucket.com/albums/u217 ... n%20tubes/ My first guess is that they are Russian, comrade  Judging from the gold lettering. I wanted to use them in a 5E3 type circuit with a SS rectifier, fixed bias, and Blackface Deluxe transformers.

Thanks for the help,

They look like the Russian equivalent to 6L6GA or GB (has lower ratings than 6L6GC), the name of which escapes me at the moment (wait... right on the tube--"6P3C" (DOH!)) . They do seem to be well circulated and pretty common (which I guess is good if you like them and need replacements).
