was the one brand J.Marshall's son was involved with that one (or was it something else--can't think of the name at the moment)?

No Jim Marshall's son wasn't involved with Nolan amps as far as I remember.Terry Marshall started a company called Thor amplifiers sometime in the 1970's as far as I can remember.They were solid state amps.The company did not last very long.Cheers,Gwyn.

Looks likely the builders name is Pat Nolan,found this at Plexi Palace.
